Ingredients
- Prosecco

- Fresh basil leaves
- 6-8 leaves, plus extra for garnish
- Fresh strawberries
- 2-3, hulled and sliced
- Simple syrup
- 1 ounce
- Lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce, freshly squeezed
- Campari
- 1 ounce
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh strawberries and basil leaves together until the strawberries are well crushed and the basil is fragrant.
- Add the Campari, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker, then fill it with ice.
- Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels frosty to the touch.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled glass, preferably a coupe or wine glass.
- Top the cocktail with the chilled Prosecco, pouring gently to maintain the bubbles.
- Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a basil leaf for an elegant touch.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste of summer!
Tips
- For a sweeter cocktail, adjust the amount of simple syrup to taste.
- You can substitute fresh mint for basil for a different herbal twist.
- If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, replace Prosecco with sparkling water and omit the Campari.
