Ingredients

Original recipe serves Enough for 2-3 pounds of meat

Black pepper
1 teaspoon, freshly ground
Ginger
1 tablespoon, freshly grated
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
1/4 cup
Molasses
1/2 cup
Root beer
1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the root beer, molasses, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, grated ginger, and freshly ground black pepper. Whisk until all the ingredients are well integrated.
  2. Place your chosen meat (pork or chicken works best) in a large zip-top bag or in a shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the meat, making sure it's fully coated.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate. For best results, let the meat marinate for at least 2 hours, or better yet, overnight.
  5. When ready to grill, remove the meat from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Grill your meat as desired, turning occasionally for even cooking. Enjoy the sweet and tangy flavors!

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • 💡 This marinade can also be used in the oven. Just place the marinated meat in a baking dish and bake at 375°F until fully cooked.
