Ingredients

Original recipe serves 1

Premium vanilla ice cream
2 large scoops
Chilled root beer
1 can or bottle
Whipped cream
optional for topping
Maraschino cherries
optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for about 15 minutes before preparation. This helps to keep the Root Beer Float colder for longer.
  2. Take out your chilled glasses and place 2 large scoops of premium vanilla ice cream into each glass.
  3. Slowly pour the chilled root beer into the glass, over the ice cream. Pour slowly to allow the foam to rise and recede before adding more root beer. This helps avoid overflow and creates the perfect creamy froth.
  4. Optional: Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for that extra special touch.
  5. Serve immediately with a straw and long spoon, to enjoy the creamy ice cream and fizzy root beer together.

Tips

  • 💡 For a twist, try using different flavors of ice cream like chocolate or caramel.
  • 💡 Using a frosted glass will keep your float cooler for longer.
  • 💡 If you're serving for a party, consider mini root beer floats in shot glasses for a fun and unique dessert option.
