Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil until you achieve a smooth and glossy glaze.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Place the sablefish fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a brush or spoon, evenly coat the sablefish fillets with the miso glaze, ensuring that each piece is generously covered.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is caramelized and bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Tips
- For an extra layer of flavor, marinate the sablefish in the miso glaze for 30 minutes to an hour before baking.
- Serve this dish with steamed rice and sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
- If you can't find sablefish, black cod or other fatty fish like salmon can be a delicious substitute.
