Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
- Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring that each fillet is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it is well-oiled to prevent sticking.
- Remove the fish from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Grill the fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely charred, with a crispy exterior.
- Carefully remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Serve the Saengseon Gui hot, garnished with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds, alongside steamed rice and your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste) to the marinade.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of fish; firm fish varieties work best for grilling.
- If grilling is not an option, you can also broil the fish in the oven on a baking sheet.
