Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Salmon fillets (1 pound, skinless and boneless)
- Fresh dill (1/4 cup, chopped)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Lemon zest (1 tablespoon)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Black pepper (1/4 teaspoon)
- Egg (1, beaten)
- Bread crumbs (1/2 cup)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Burger buns (4, toasted)
- Lettuce (4 leaves)
- Tomato (1, sliced)
- Onion (1/2, thinly sliced)
- Tartar sauce (optional) (1/4 cup)
Instructions
- Begin by finely chopping the salmon fillets into small pieces or pulse them in a food processor until roughly chopped. Avoid over-processing.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped salmon, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Add the beaten egg and bread crumbs to the salmon mixture and stir until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1-inch thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly. This adds an extra crunch and prevents sogginess.
- To serve, place each patty on a toasted bun, and top with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and onion rings. For an added burst of flavor, drizzle with tartar sauce if desired.
