Indulge in this zesty and addictive Tangy Salt and Vinegar Popcorn, a snack that elevates your movie nights or casual gatherings. The perfect balance of crunchy popcorn, tangy vinegar, and a sprinkle of sea salt creates a flavor explosion that will keep you reaching for more. This delightful twist on a classic snack hails from the British tradition of enjoying salt and vinegar chips, bringing that irresistible taste to a fluffy popcorn base. Servings: 4

Ingredients

Popcorn kernels
1/2 cup
Olive oil
3 tablespoons
Sea salt
1 teaspoon (or to taste)
White vinegar
1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. In a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add 3 popcorn kernels to the pot and cover. Once the kernels pop, remove the pot from heat and discard the popped kernels.
  3. Add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot and cover. Let sit off heat for 30 seconds to allow them to warm up.
  4. Return the pot to medium heat. As the kernels start popping, shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping and prevent burning.
  5. When the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 1 minute to allow any final kernels to pop.
  6. While the popcorn is resting, pour the white vinegar into a small saucepan and heat it over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  7. Slowly drizzle the hot vinegar over the freshly popped popcorn, shaking the pot gently to evenly distribute the vinegar.
  8. Sprinkle the popcorn with sea salt, shaking again to ensure it's well coated. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful snack!
