Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup
- Olive oil
- 3 tablespoons
- Sea salt
- 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
- White vinegar
- 1/4 cup
Instructions
- In a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add 3 popcorn kernels to the pot and cover. Once the kernels pop, remove the pot from heat and discard the popped kernels.
- Add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot and cover. Let sit off heat for 30 seconds to allow them to warm up.
- Return the pot to medium heat. As the kernels start popping, shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping and prevent burning.
- When the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 1 minute to allow any final kernels to pop.
- While the popcorn is resting, pour the white vinegar into a small saucepan and heat it over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
- Slowly drizzle the hot vinegar over the freshly popped popcorn, shaking the pot gently to evenly distribute the vinegar.
- Sprinkle the popcorn with sea salt, shaking again to ensure it's well coated. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful snack!
