Ingredients

Sausages
4-6, your choice of pork, chicken, or turkey
Onion
1 medium, diced
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Sauerkraut
4 cups, drained and rinsed
Chicken broth
1 cup
Caraway seeds
1 teaspoon
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste
Olive oil
1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour in the drained and rinsed sauerkraut, and sprinkle in the caraway seeds. Stir to combine the ingredients.
  4. Add the chicken broth to the skillet, mixing well to ensure the sauerkraut is evenly distributed.
  5. Return the browned sausages to the skillet, nestling them into the sauerkraut mixture.
  6. Cover the skillet and let it simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes, allowing the sausages to cook through and the flavors to meld beautifully.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving. Enjoy with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
