Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the ground coffee, water, grated ginger, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure that the coffee and spices are well integrated.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the coffee to steep for an additional 5 minutes to fully extract the flavors from the spices.
- Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain the coffee into your favorite mugs, discarding the ginger and spices.
- Stir in the sugar and milk until well combined, adjusting to taste.
- Serve your Senegalese Ginger Coffee hot and savor the warm, spiced flavors. Enjoy!
Tips
- For a vegan alternative, replace cow's milk with almond milk or oat milk.
- If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, you can increase the amount of coffee grounds used.
- For a richer flavor, try using dark brown sugar instead of white sugar.
