- Serrano peppers

- Tomatoes
- 2 cups, diced (fresh or canned)
- Cumin
- 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder
- 1 tablespoon
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Water
- 1 cup
- Cilantro
- 1/4 cup, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the diced Serrano peppers, tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer. Once simmering, cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- After 30 minutes, remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
- Serve hot with a side of rice or warm tortillas to soak up the flavorful sauce.
