Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Flour tortillas
4 large
Cheese (e.g. cheddar or Monterey Jack)
2 cups, shredded
Cooked chicken or ham
1 cup, diced (optional)
Guacamole
1 cup, for serving
Sour cream
1 cup, for serving
Salsa
1 cup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Place one tortilla on the skillet and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the tortilla.
  3. If using, add the diced chicken or ham on top of the cheese for added flavor and heartiness.
  4. Carefully place another tortilla on top to create a sandwich.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  6. Using a spatula, carefully flip the sincronizada and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the second side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet and repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  8. Cut each sincronizada into quarters and serve hot with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole for dipping.
