Serves 2

Ingredients

Butter
2 tablespoons
Black pepper
to taste
Salt
to taste
Fresh dill
2 tablespoons, chopped
Smoked salmon
4 ounces, sliced
Eggs
4 large

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until they are well beaten. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste.
  2. In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to foam slightly, ensuring it doesn’t brown.
  3. Pour the beaten eggs into the skillet, and let them cook undisturbed for about a minute until the edges start to set.
  4. Using a spatula, gently lift the edges of the omelette and tilt the skillet slightly to allow the uncooked eggs to flow to the edges.
  5. When the omelette is mostly set but still slightly runny on top, layer the smoked salmon slices and chopped dill on one half of the omelette.
  6. Carefully fold the other half of the omelette over the filling and cook for an additional minute to warm the salmon and finish cooking the eggs.
  7. Slide the omelette onto a plate, cut it in half, and garnish with additional fresh dill, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your gourmet smoked salmon and dill omelette!

Tips

  • 💡 For a creamier texture, you can add a splash of cream or milk to the eggs before whisking.
  • 💡 Feel free to add other ingredients such as capers, chives, or a sprinkle of feta cheese for added flavor.
  • 💡 Experiment with different types of smoked fish, like trout or mackerel, for a unique twist.
