Somali Chai Coffee is a traditional Somali spiced tea made with black tea, milk, and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- Sugar (2 tablespoons)
- Ginger (1-inch piece, grated)
- Cloves (4)
- Cinnamon stick (1)
- Cardamom pods (4)
- Milk (1 cup)
- Water (2 cups)
- Black tea (2 teaspoons)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- Add the black tea, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and grated ginger to the boiling water.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Add the milk and sugar to the saucepan and stir well.
- Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Strain the chai coffee into cups or mugs.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
