Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil. This helps in easy clean-up after baking.
- Arrange the chicken wings on the baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Bake for 40 minutes, until they are crispy and golden.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the soy glaze. Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, this will help thicken the sauce. Gradually add this mixture to the saucepan, stirring continuously.
- Cook the sauce for about 5 minutes until it thickens to a glaze-like consistency. Remember to stir frequently to prevent the sauce from burning.
- Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and toss them in the soy glaze until fully coated. Ensure all wings are well coated for a full flavor experience.
- Return the glazed wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize beautifully onto the wings.
- Garnish the wings with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions before serving. This adds a pop of color and an extra layer of flavor.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, you can add some chili flakes or hot sauce to the soy glaze. If you prefer, you can also grill the wings instead of baking for a smoky flavor.
