
Spaghetti with Meatballs and Parmesan
A classic Italian dish featuring homemade meatballs, spaghetti, and grated Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- Grated parmesan cheese (1/4 cup)
- Fresh basil (1/4 cup, chopped)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Tomato sauce (2 cups)
- Spaghetti (8 ounces)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Egg (1)
- Parmesan cheese (1/4 cup, grated)
- Breadcrumbs (1/2 cup)
- Ground beef (1 pound)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Return the meatballs to the skillet and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the cooked spaghetti topped with the meatballs and tomato sauce.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
