Serves 2

Ingredients

Milk
2 cups
Espresso or strong coffee
1 cup
Cocoa powder
2 tablespoons
Ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon
Ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon
Ground chili powder
1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Honey or sugar
2 tablespoons (to taste)
Whipped cream

Cocoa powder or ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
  2. While the milk is heating, in a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground chili powder until well blended.
  3. Once the milk is heated, add the spice mixture, vanilla extract, and honey (or sugar) to the hot milk. Whisk vigorously until everything is well combined and frothy.
  4. Add the espresso or strong coffee to the spiced milk mixture, stirring gently until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the Spiced Aztec Latte into mugs, filling them about three-quarters full.
  6. Top each latte generously with whipped cream.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or ground cinnamon on top for an elegant finish.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy the delightful fusion of flavors!

Tips

  • 💡 For a richer flavor, you can use whole milk or a combination of milk and cream.
  • 💡 Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/sugar according to your taste.
  • 💡 For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper along with the chili powder.
