Servings: 6

Ingredients

Pie crust
1 (9-inch), store-bought or homemade
Bacon
6 slices, chopped
Onion
1 medium, diced
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Fresh spinach
4 cups, chopped
Large eggs
4
Milk
1 cup
Cheddar cheese
1 cup, shredded
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon
Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it gently into the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling during baking.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, approximately 6-8 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and let it drain on paper towels.
  4. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  7. Spread the sautéed spinach mixture evenly over the bottom of the pie crust, followed by the crumbled bacon.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the spinach and bacon, ensuring even distribution.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the middle and the crust is golden brown.
  11. Once baked, allow the quiche to cool for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
