This delicious tart features a savory combination of spinach, caramelized onions, and cheese, all baked in a flaky pastry crust.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Grated parmesan cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Milk (1/2 cup)
  • Eggs (3)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Onions (2 large, thinly sliced)
  • Spinach (6 cups, fresh)
  • Frozen puff pastry (1 sheet, thawed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and press it into a tart pan, trimming any excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  7. Spread the caramelized onion and spinach mixture evenly over the puff pastry crust.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tart is golden brown and set.
  10. Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
