Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the shrimp, ginger, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Pulse until well combined and the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center. Lightly wet the edges of the wrapper with water to help seal it.
- Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal. For a more traditional look, you can create pleats by pinching the edges.
- Arrange the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking, ensuring that they are not touching each other.
- Bring water to a boil in a pot or wok. Place the steamer basket on top, cover with a lid, and steam the dumplings for 10-12 minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
- Serve the steamed shrimp dumplings hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or vinegar for dipping. Enjoy the burst of flavors!
Tips
- For an extra kick, consider adding a few drops of chili oil or finely diced chili peppers to the shrimp mixture.
- You can also experiment with other fillings, such as minced pork or vegetables, for a variation on the classic recipe.
