8

Instructions

  1. In a large glass jar or clear pitcher, pour 8 cups of cold water.
  2. Submerge 8 black tea bags in the water, making sure they are fully immersed.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to the water, stirring gently until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Immerse the thinly sliced lemon and fresh mint leaves into the mixture.
  5. Cover the jar or pitcher securely with a lid or clear plastic wrap to keep out any insects.
  6. Place the container in a sunny, warm spot outdoors and let the tea steep for 4 to 6 hours. The heat from the sun will gently brew the tea, the longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.
  7. After brewing, carefully remove the tea bags, and strain the mixture to remove the lemon slices and mint leaves.
  8. Chill the tea in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice for a refreshing, sun-kissed beverage.

Tips

  • 💡 For a sugar-free version, replace sugar with a natural sweetener like honey or stevia.
  • 💡 Feel free to experiment with different types of tea like green or herbal teas for variations. Adding in some additional herbs or edible flowers like lavender or chamomile can also add an interesting flavor twist.
