Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground peanuts, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to create the suya spice mix. Mix well until combined.
- Take the thinly sliced beef or chicken and thread them onto the skewers, ensuring they are evenly spaced for proper cooking.
- Brush the skewered meat generously with vegetable oil. Evenly coat all sides of the meat with the suya spice mix, pressing it onto the surface to adhere well.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it's nice and hot before placing the skewers on it.
- Grill the skewered meat for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. Cook until the meat is charred on the outside and cooked through.
- Once grilled, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Serve the suya skewers garnished with sliced onions, tomatoes, and cucumber on the side. Enjoy the vibrant flavors and spice!
Tips
- For an even more authentic flavor, try marinating the meat in the suya spice mix for a few hours or overnight before grilling.
- You can adjust the spice level by modifying the amount of cayenne pepper used in the spice mix.
- Serve with a side of grilled plantains or spicy chili sauce for an extra kick!
