Serves 6

Ingredients

Frozen hashbrowns
1 package (about 30 oz)
Ground beef
1 pound
Taco seasoning
1 packet (1 oz)
Water
1/4 cup
Cheddar cheese
2 cups, shredded
Tomatoes
1 cup, diced
Green onions
1/2 cup, chopped
Sour cream
1 cup, for serving
Salsa
1 cup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet with the beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the beef is well-coated with seasoning.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the hashbrowns according to the package instructions until they are crispy and golden brown.
  5. Spread the crispy hashbrowns evenly in a large baking dish.
  6. Layer the seasoned beef over the hashbrowns, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and chopped green onions.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa on the side for drizzling.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • 💡 You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 💡 Feel free to use a variety of toppings, such as avocado, cilantro, or black olives.
