Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the lime juice, orange juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results to enhance the flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, ensuring it's hot enough for a perfect sear.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
  5. Grill the steak for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy; 130°F for medium-rare.
  6. Once grilled, let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain to maximize tenderness.
  7. Warm the corn tortillas on the grill or stovetop until pliable.
  8. Assemble the tacos by placing a few slices of the grilled steak on each tortilla. Top with chopped cilantro, diced onion, salsa, and sliced avocado.
  9. Serve the tacos de carne asada with additional lime wedges and your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick.
