
Tamatar Ka Kut
Tamatar Ka Kut is a popular Hyderabadi dish. It is a tangy tomato curry that is best served with rice or roti.
Ingredients
- Salt (to taste)
- Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Curry leaves (a few)
- Mustard seeds (1/2 teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
- Red chilli powder (1 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Ginger (garlic paste - 1 tablespoon)
- Green chillies (2, slit)
- Onions (2, finely chopped)
- Tomatoes (6, large and ripe)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add curry leaves.
- Add chopped onions and green chillies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few more minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Mix well.
- Add chopped tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Cook on low heat until oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
