Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken breasts to the marinade and coat them thoroughly. Cover and let marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator, or overnight for enhanced flavor.
- Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated chicken breasts for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes to retain its juices.
- While the chicken is resting, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayonnaise.
- Add a grilled chicken breast on top of the lettuce.
- Top with sliced tomato and onion for added crunch and flavor.
- Finish by covering with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the Tandoori Chicken Burgers with a side of yogurt sauce or chutney for an extra layer of flavor.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add more red chili powder or a dash of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
- You can also substitute chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier burger.
- Experiment with toppings such as avocado, pickles, or a zesty slaw for added texture and flavor.
