Tandoori Peach Delight

Indulge in the exotic fusion of ripe juicy peaches with a smoky, spicy tandoori marinade. A popular dish in North Indian cuisines during summer, this recipe is a delightful blend of sweetness from the peaches and the robust flavors of traditional Indian spices. The peaches, when grilled, caramelize slightly and absorb the aromatic tandoori masala, creating a symphony of flavors that will dance on your tongue. Garnished with fresh cilantro, this dish is sure to be a hit at your next barbecue!

Serves 4

Ingredients

Cilantro
1 tablespoon, chopped
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Ginger
1 teaspoon, grated
Garlic
1 teaspoon, minced
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Tandoori masala
2 tablespoons
Yogurt
1/2 cup
Peaches
4, ripe and firm

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Halve the peaches and carefully remove the pits without damaging the flesh of the fruit.
  3. In a bowl, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt to form a smooth marinade.
  4. Coat each peach half evenly with the tandoori marinade. Leave them to marinate for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Place the marinated peaches cut side down on the grill. Grill them for approximately 4-5 minutes per side. The peaches should have slight char marks and a softened texture.
  6. Remove the peaches from the grill and allow them to cool slightly.
  7. Sprinkle the grilled peaches with freshly chopped cilantro and serve while still warm. Enjoy as a unique appetizer or a sweet-spicy dessert.

Tips

  • 💡 Using ripe but firm peaches will give the best results as they hold up well on the grill.
  • 💡 You can add a touch of honey or maple syrup to the marinade if you prefer a sweeter taste.
  • 💡 For a vegan option, replace the yogurt with a plant-based yogurt alternative.
