Instructions
- Peel the plantains and cut them into thick slices. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the plain yogurt, lemon juice, grated ginger, tandoori masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. This mixture serves as a rich marinade, infusing the plantains with the classic tandoori flavors.
- Add the sliced plantains to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors. For a deeper flavor, you can marinate them for up to 2 hours.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent the plantains from sticking.
- Arrange the marinated plantain slices on the grill. Grill each side for about 8-10 minutes, or until the plantains are tender and slightly charred, enhancing their natural sweetness.
- Carefully remove the grilled plantains from the heat and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro for an added layer of freshness.
- Serve these Tandoori Plantains hot as a mouthwatering appetizer or a side dish to your main course. They pair perfectly with a side of tangy mint chutney.
