Tantanmen is a beloved Japanese ramen dish that brings together a delightful medley of flavors and textures. Ingredients

Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons, toasted
Soft-boiled eggs

Chili bean paste
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sesame oil
2 tablespoons
Fresh ginger
1 tablespoon, minced
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Ground pork
8 ounces

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the ground pork, garlic, and ginger to the pot. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pork is browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce and chili bean paste, mixing well to combine all the flavors in the pan.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. While the broth simmers, cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  6. Add the chopped bok choy to the broth and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the bok choy is wilted and tender.
  7. Divide the cooked ramen noodles evenly into serving bowls. Ladle the hot broth and bok choy over the noodles.
  8. Garnish each bowl with sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and a soft-boiled egg cut in half.
