Servings: 8
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups
- Unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup, chilled and cubed
- Granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup
- Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg yolks
- 2 large
- Strawberry jam
- 1/3 cup
- Fresh strawberries
- 2 cups, hulled and sliced
- Powdered sugar
- for dusting
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the flour, chilled butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg yolks and pulse until the dough comes together in a ball.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and shape it into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the dough to firm up.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle large enough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
- Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the bottom of the tart shell, creating a flavorful base.
- Arrange the sliced fresh strawberries artfully on top of the jam, ensuring an even distribution for both aesthetics and flavor.
- Bake the tart in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Before serving, dust the top of the tart with powdered sugar for a touch of sweetness and elegance.
- Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.
