Ingredients

Original recipe serves 8

All-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups
Unsalted butter
1/2 cup, cold and cubed
Granulated sugar
1/4 cup
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Egg
1, beaten
Plums
1 pound, pitted and sliced
Brown sugar
1/2 cup
Ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Apricot jam
1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, butter, granulated sugar, and salt in a food processor. Pulse until you achieve a coarse crumb texture.
  2. Add the beaten egg into the mixture and pulse again until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a disk. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a circle large enough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of the pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the sliced plums, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Make sure the plums are well-coated.
  7. Spread the apricot jam evenly over the tart crust.
  8. Arrange the plum slices in a circular pattern over the jam layer.
  9. Bake the tart for 40-45 minutes, until the crust turns golden and the plums are tender.
  10. Allow the tart to cool before serving. This tart is best enjoyed either at room temperature or chilled.
