Ingredients

Tempeh

Vegan mayonnaise
1/4 cup
Lettuce
4 leaves, shredded
Tomato
1 large, sliced
Bread
8 slices (your choice: sourdough, whole grain, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Slice the tempeh into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and garlic powder to create a flavorful marinade.
  3. Add the sliced tempeh to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated tempeh strips. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the tempeh is crispy and golden brown.
