Ingredients
- Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup
- Honey
- 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon, grated
- Cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon
- Water
- 2 tablespoons
- Salmon fillets
- 4 (6-ounce) fillets
- Sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons, toasted
- Green onions
- 2, thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water to create the teriyaki glaze. Set aside half of the glaze for later use.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki glaze over them. Ensure the fillets are well-coated and let marinate for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Flip the salmon fillets and generously brush the tops with the reserved teriyaki glaze.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once done, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the teriyaki glazed salmon over a bed of steamed rice or alongside sautéed vegetables. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a beautiful presentation.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of Sriracha or red pepper flakes to the glaze.
- If you prefer a sweeter glaze, increase the honey to 3 tablespoons.
- Pair this dish with a side of sautéed bok choy or steamed edamame for a complete meal.
