Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and red chili flakes to create the sauce. Whisk until well blended.
- Heat vegetable oil over high heat in a large skillet.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and stir for a few seconds until fragrant. Then, add the sliced beef sirloin. Cook until the beef is thoroughly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the cooked beef from the skillet and reserve in a bowl.
- In the same skillet, add sliced red bell pepper and julienned carrots. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir to coat all ingredients in the sauce.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in Thai basil leaves until they wilt from the residual heat.
- To assemble the wraps, lay a lettuce leaf on a plate. Layer a spoonful of cooked rice noodles, followed by the saucy beef and vegetable mixture.
- Roll the lettuce leaf around the filling to form a wrap. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Repeat these steps with the remaining ingredients.
- Serve the Thai Basil and Beef Wraps immediately with any extra sauce on the side for dipping.
