Indulge in the rich history of the early 20th century with this classic cocktail. With a harmonious balance of gin, Lillet Blanc, and white crème de cacao, this cocktail pays homage to the sophistication and elegance of its era. The subtle citrus undertone from the lemon juice adds a refreshing twist, making it a perfect drink to unwind with after a long day or to serve at your next cocktail party.
Ingredients
- Gin
- 2 ounces
- Lillet Blanc
- 1 ounce
- White crème de cacao
- 0.75 ounce
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 0.75 ounce
- Lemon twist
- 1 (for garnish)
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Pour the gin, Lillet Blanc, white crème de cacao, and freshly squeezed lemon juice into the cocktail shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
- Strain the cocktail mixture into a chilled martini glass, ensuring no ice slips in.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel. To do this, cut a thin strip of lemon peel, twist it over the glass to release the oils, then drop it in.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the harmonious blend of flavors.
Tips
- For a twist, try substituting the gin with vodka or the Lillet Blanc with dry vermouth.
- Always use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
- Chilling your martini glass before serving keeps the cocktail cooler for longer.
