Three Cheese Pasta

Indulge in the creamy richness of Three Cheese Pasta, a delightful dish that brings together the melt-in-your-mouth flavors of cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan. This pasta is enveloped in a luscious cheese sauce, creating a heavenly experience for cheese lovers. Originating from the heart of Italian cuisine, this dish celebrates simplicity and comfort, making it an ideal choice for family dinners or intimate gatherings. Serve it with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Ingredients

Pasta
8 ounces (any type, such as penne or fettuccine)
Unsalted butter
2 tablespoons
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Milk
1 cup
Cheddar cheese
1 cup, shredded
Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup, grated
Mozzarella cheese
1 cup, shredded
Fresh parsley
2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a small cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Pour in the milk, stirring continuously, and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the cheddar, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
  4. Season the cheese sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Remember, cheese can be salty, so adjust accordingly.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing gently to coat it thoroughly with the cheese sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the pasta to absorb some of the sauce and heat through.
  6. Serve the three-cheese pasta hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and flavor.

Tips

  • 💡 For a spicy kick, consider adding red pepper flakes or sautéing some chopped spinach or mushrooms with the garlic.
  • 💡 Experiment with different pasta shapes to change the texture and presentation. Shells or fusilli work particularly well to trap more sauce.
