
Tomato and Basil Bruschetta
This delicious bruschetta is made with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, and crusty bread.
Ingredients
- Baguette (1, sliced)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Balsamic vinegar (1 tablespoon)
- Extra virgin olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Fresh basil leaves (1/2 cup, chopped)
- Ripe tomatoes (4 medium, diced)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Let the tomato mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush them with olive oil.
- Toast the bread slices in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Remove the bread slices from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Top each bread slice with a generous amount of the tomato and basil mixture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
