Tomato and Basil Crostini

Ingredients
- Baguette
- 1, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
- Olive oil
- 1/4 cup, plus extra for drizzling
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes
- 2 cups, diced (preferably heirloom or vine-ripened)
- Fresh basil
- 1/2 cup, chopped
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon, or to taste
- Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon, or to taste
- Balsamic glaze

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. Brush each slice generously with olive oil to ensure they toast beautifully.
- Bake the baguette slices for 5-7 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and crisp. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- While the baguette is toasting, prepare the tomato topping. In a medium bowl, mix together the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Once the baguette slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
