Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs until well blended. Place the bread crumbs in another shallow bowl.
- Dip each cutlet into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are well-coated, then dredge them in the bread crumbs until fully covered.
- In a large skillet, heat enough oil over medium heat to cover the bottom of the pan. Fry each cutlet for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- While the cutlets are cooling slightly, prepare the bolillo rolls by slicing them in half. Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on one side and warm refried beans on the other side of each roll.
- Place a crispy fried cutlet on the bottom half of each bolillo roll.
- Top the cutlets with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado slices.
- Cover with the top half of the roll, pressing down gently to hold everything together.
- Serve immediately while the cutlets are still warm and enjoy your delicious Torta de Milanesa.
Tips
- For added flavor, consider marinating the cutlets in lime juice and garlic before breading them.
- You can experiment with different proteins, such as pork or turkey, for a twist on the classic recipe.
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce inside the sandwich.
