Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound (80/20 blend for juiciness)
Truffle oil
2 tablespoons, divided
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Swiss cheese
4 slices
Brioche buns
4, split
Mayonnaise
1/2 cup
Onion
1, thinly sliced
Tomato
1, sliced
Lettuce
4 leaves (romaine or butter lettuce)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with 1 tablespoon of truffle oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature of 160°F for medium).
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the truffle mayo by combining the mayonnaise with the remaining tablespoon of truffle oil in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  5. Toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Spread a generous layer of truffle mayo on the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun. Layer a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato and a slice of onion.
  7. Once the burgers are cooked, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty and let it melt slightly from the residual heat.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the prepared buns and topping with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy the symphony of flavors!
