Servings: 12

Ingredients

Dark chocolate
8 ounces, chopped
Heavy cream
1/2 cup
Unsalted butter
2 tablespoons
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Cocoa powder
1/2 cup (for rolling)
Optional toppings
1/2 cup (crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture begins to simmer, then remove from heat.
  2. Add the chopped dark chocolate to the saucepan. Let it sit for about 1 minute to allow the chocolate to melt before stirring until smooth and well combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, mixing well to incorporate.
  4. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until it is firm to the touch.
  5. Once firm, use a spoon or a melon baller to scoop out small portions of the chocolate mixture. Roll each portion between your hands to form smooth balls.
  6. Roll the truffles in cocoa powder or your desired toppings, such as crushed nuts or shredded coconut, ensuring they are well coated.
  7. Place the finished truffles in an airtight container and refrigerate for an additional hour to set.
  8. Serve chilled and enjoy these delightful treats!
