Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Apple
2 large, diced
Water
4 cups
Sugar
1/2 cup (adjust to taste)
Lemon juice
2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
Cinnamon stick
1
Cloves
4-5 whole

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the diced apples, water, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves.

  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft and tender.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the apples until they reach a pulpy consistency.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large jug, using a spatula or the back of a spoon to press down on the apples and extract as much juice as possible.
  6. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice for a touch of brightness.
  7. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then serve it over ice for a refreshing drink, or reheat it gently to serve warm.

Tips

  • 💡 Feel free to adjust the sugar according to your taste preference or use honey as a natural sweetener.
  • 💡 For a richer flavor, add a slice of fresh ginger during the simmering process.
  • 💡 You can enhance the presentation by garnishing with a slice of apple or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
