Turkish Kebab Wraps
These Turkish kebab wraps are filled with juicy marinated meat, fresh vegetables, and a tangy yogurt sauce.
Ingredients
- Pita bread (4 rounds)
- Fresh parsley (1/4 cup, chopped)
- Red onion (1, thinly sliced)
- Tomato (1, thinly sliced)
- Cucumber (1, thinly sliced)
- Greek yogurt (1/2 cup)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Ground paprika (1 teaspoon)
- Ground cumin (1 teaspoon)
- Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Lamb or beef (1 lb, thinly sliced)
- Boneless chicken thighs (1 lb, thinly sliced)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the sliced chicken thighs and lamb or beef to the marinade. Mix well to coat the meat. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated meat for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
- Warm the pita bread rounds on the grill or in a toaster for a few seconds on each side.
- Spread a generous amount of the yogurt sauce on each pita bread round.
- Place a few slices of cooked meat on top of the yogurt sauce.
- Add cucumber, tomato, red onion, and fresh parsley on top of the meat.
- Fold the sides of the pita bread over the filling and roll it up tightly.
- Serve the Turkish kebab wraps immediately and enjoy!
