Serves 12

Ingredients

All-purpose flour
2 cups
Sugar
1/4 cup
Baking powder
2 teaspoons
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Milk
3/4 cup
Egg
1, large
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Vegetable oil
for frying
Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
