Ingredients
- Wooden skewers
- 8-10, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- Red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar
- 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons
- Lemongrass
- 2 stalks, finely minced
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Shrimp
- 1 pound, peeled and deveined
- Fresh lime juice

- Jasmine rice
- for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the minced garlic, minced lemongrass, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour for enhanced flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Once the shrimp are marinated, thread them onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each shrimp for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking to maintain their juiciness.
- Serve the grilled shrimp skewers hot, drizzled with fresh lime juice, alongside a serving of jasmine rice for a complete meal.
