Wasabi Tuna Burger

Dive into a culinary adventure with this Wasabi Tuna Burger, a bold and spicy twist on the classic burger. Made with fresh, high-quality tuna, this burger packs a punch with the fiery kick of wasabi and the umami richness of soy sauce. Each bite is a perfect balance of flavors, topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes, all nestled in a soft burger bun. Perfect for summer barbecues or a weeknight dinner, this dish is not just a meal, it’s an experience!

Ingredients

Fresh tuna
1 lb, finely chopped
Green onions
2, finely chopped
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Wasabi paste
1 tablespoon, adjust to taste
Ginger
1 teaspoon, minced
Garlic
1 clove, minced
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Burger buns
4, toasted
Lettuce
4 leaves, for topping
Tomato
1, sliced for topping
Extra wasabi and soy sauce
for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped tuna, green onions, soy sauce, wasabi paste, minced ginger, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, being careful not to overwork the tuna.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Tuna is best served medium-rare to retain its juicy texture.
  5. Place each patty on a toasted burger bun and top with a crisp lettuce leaf and a slice of fresh tomato.
  6. Serve the burgers immediately, with extra wasabi and soy sauce on the side for dipping.

Tips

  • 💡 For a creamier texture, consider adding a tablespoon of mayonnaise to the tuna mixture.
  • 💡 If you prefer more heat, increase the wasabi paste or serve with pickled ginger.
  • 💡 Serve with sweet potato fries or a cucumber salad for a refreshing side.
