Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the eggs along with salt and pepper until frothy. Set aside.
- Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until it melts. Tilt the pan to coat the bottom evenly.
- Add the diced ham, bell peppers, and onion to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and the ham is lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the beaten eggs evenly over the cooked vegetables and ham in the skillet. Let it cook undisturbed until the edges start to set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.
- Using a spatula, gently fold the other half of the omelette over the cheese-covered half.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the omelette is fully set. Be careful not to overcook, as the omelette should be soft and slightly creamy in the middle.
- Gently slide the omelette onto a plate and serve hot. Enjoy your classic Western Omelette!
Tips
- You can use any type of cheese you prefer or have on hand. Some good options are Swiss, Monterey Jack, or Gouda.
- Feel free to add other ingredients like mushrooms, tomatoes, or spinach for extra nutrition and flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add some diced jalapeno or a dash of hot sauce before serving.
