Wok Fried Spaghetti with Seafood

Embark on a culinary adventure with this Wok Fried Spaghetti with Seafood, a delightful fusion dish that marries the comforting essence of Italian spaghetti with the bold, vibrant flavors of Asian cuisine. This dish is not just a meal; it's a celebration of textures and tastes, featuring succulent mixed seafood, aromatic garlic, and a hint of spice from red chili flakes, all beautifully tossed together in a fragrant wok for that smoky finish. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or an impressive dish for entertaining, this recipe will surely please any palate!

Ingredients

Spaghetti
8 ounces
Mixed seafood (shrimp, squid, mussels)
1 pound, thawed and cleaned
Garlic
4 cloves, minced
Spring onions
3, chopped (green parts for garnish)
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Oyster sauce
1 tablespoon
Red chili flakes
1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Salt
to taste
Pepper
to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the spaghetti according to the package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.
  2. In a large wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant and golden, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add the mixed seafood to the wok. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes or until the seafood is opaque and cooked through, stirring frequently for even cooking.
  4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the wok, tossing gently to combine with the seafood. If the mixture seems dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, continuing to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the noodles are well coated and heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onions. Serve hot for the best flavor.

Tips

  • 💡 For added crunch, consider tossing in some vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or bok choy during the stir-frying process.
  • 💡 Feel free to customize the seafood selection based on your preference or availability; fresh seafood works best!
  • 💡 If you prefer a vegetarian version, substitute the seafood with tofu or a medley of your favorite vegetables.
