Ice cubes
as needed
Chili pepper
1, small
Garlic
2 cloves
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Vinegar
1 tablespoon
Beef broth
4 cups
Boiled egg
1, sliced
Asian pear
1/4, thinly sliced
Radish
1/2, julienned
Cucumber
1/2, julienned
Buckwheat noodles
200 grams
Yulmu (Job's tears) powder
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the buckwheat noodles as per the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water to halt the cooking process and to keep them firm.
  2. To make the yulmu broth, combine the yulmu powder, beef broth, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, and chili pepper in a blender. Blend this mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
  3. In a large serving bowl, place the cooked and cooled noodles. Arrange the julienned cucumber, radish, and the thinly sliced Asian pear over the noodles. Add the sliced boiled egg as well.
  4. Slowly pour the prepared yulmu broth over the noodles and the arranged vegetables. The broth should be tangy, flavorful, and refreshing.
  5. To keep the dish cold, as traditionally served, add ice cubes to the bowl.
  6. Serve the Yulmu Naengmyeon immediately for best taste. Enjoy this refreshing, nutritious, and delicious Korean delicacy!
