This warming beverage beautifully combines the bold taste of freshly brewed coffee with the aromatic, sweet, and spicy notes of cloves. The addition of warm milk, a dab of whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon create a comforting and indulgent treat, perfect for a cozy evening in.
Ingredients
- Freshly brewed coffee
- 1 cup
- Milk
- 1 cup
- Ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon
- Honey
- 1 tablespoon
- Whipped cream
- to taste
- Whole clove
- 1 (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by brewing your coffee until it is strong and aromatic.
- While the coffee is brewing, pour the milk into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
- To the heated milk, add the ground cloves, honey, and cinnamon powder. Stir the mixture well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined and the milk is infused with the spices.
- Now, pour the freshly brewed coffee into a large mug.
- Slowly pour the spiced milk into the mug over the coffee. Use a spoon to hold back the foam to ensure a smooth pour.
- Top your latte off with a generous dollop of whipped cream. For an extra touch of flavor and elegance, garnish with a whole clove.
- Serve your Zanzibar Clove Latte hot and savor the exotic aromas and flavors. Enjoy!
Tips
- For an extra creamy latte, you can use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk.
- If you do not have ground cloves, you can use whole cloves. Just remember to strain them out before pouring the milk into the coffee.
- For a vegan alternative, replace the milk with almond milk or oat milk, and the honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
