Carménère
Once a major Bordeaux grape lost to phylloxera, Carménère found a second life in Chile where it was long mistaken for Merlot. Produces smooth, medium-bodied reds with flavors of red bell pepper, dark cherry, and chocolate with a distinctive herbal, savory character.
